In my first book, The Blackmail Enigma, I wrote extensively about Senegal in Africa, where I lived and worked for 5 years. In Where Sunflowers Stand I was able to rely on having lived in Moscow for 2 years, working. I often visited Ukraine, and this war is near and dear to my heart.
