www.seekgratitude.meWhen you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?
It used to happen and I never ignore them. I just keep detailed notes of them quickly because recollecting them later may become diffcult. But that never interferes seriously with my current work.
What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?
I would recomend Arundhathi roy and Shashi Tharoor
Tell us what you enjoy most about writing [genre].
In my most stressfull times, writing comes as a soothing experience. While I get involved in it I just get relieved of all other matters troubling me otherwise.
What have you found to be most challenging about writing in [genre]?
While writing my memoirs I felt like threatened as some characters are still living and they may have an objection in publishing something they are part of .
Do you identify with your main character or did you create a character that is your opposite?
I have written memoirs so far and here the key character remains myself.
Describe the [book/series] in 10 words or less for people who are just learning about it.
My book "ENCOUNTERS; life"s enduring journey " is an extension of my previous book "GRATITUDE - embarking on a journey like no other" - both are memoirs of different kind.
Would you like readers to have any specific takeaway from your book?
I always have a concern for nature and environment which I keep alive in all my books. I believe my reders would take it very seriously
As an author, what critique has been the most challenging for you to receive? On the other hand, what compliment has been the most rewarding?
My critics have some questions like when you start a different genre than memoirs, which were very relevant and my third book answers that. It is going to be a medical science fiction.
To date, what is your favorite (or most difficult) chapter you have ever written?
Prefaces of the both books seriously
Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?
I had been writing articles, stories from my early teenage and as I enterded my proffession of engineering writing came to a stand still.. After my retirement only I started it again, but yet sometimes my proffessional commitments creates serious blocks again in writing.
Did you have any say in the cover design?
The cover design of my first book is my own, while the design for the second book was by my son which I believe is outstanding.
What are you reading right now?
I am bascally from India and currently is an expat in this beautiful middle eastern contry of Oman
What can we anticipate from you moving forward?
Expect from me more stories of unusual nature. I like to tread differently
Did you always want to be an author? If not, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Yes, it had been my life ambition but it took a backseat for long time due to my professional life.
How long did it take you to write this book?
First book is a compilation of of journals from nearly twenty years. Second one took only six months.
Where do you like to write? In a coffee shop? In your home office? On the beach?
My instincts are alive only while I am at the comfort of my home
What other hobbies do you have outside of writing?
Unfourtunately nothing because I feel I have limited time to execute my current passion
Are any of the characters in your book based on people in your real life? If so, can you tell us more about that process and how it influenced your writing?
All the characters in my book are from real life because they are all real life experiences.
