When you're working on a book and a new idea pops up, should you pursue it immediately (also known as 'UP syndrome') or finish your current project first? What do you think is the best course of action?

If a new idea pops up, I may take a break from book writing to turn it into an article for a magazine or blog.

What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?

I love anything written by Anne Tyler or Bob Greene.

Tell us what you enjoy most about writing [genre].

I write to remember. The majority of my writing is reflective and humorous, whether it's about my experiences as a child or my life in Japan.

Have you been able to incorporate your previous experience in [jobs/education] in your writing?

Yes. My first book was all about my live in Japan during the 1980s, including my personal and work life.

Describe the [book/series] in 10 words or less for people who are just learning about it.

Conversational storytelling brings adventures to life as if experienced personally.

Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?

I deal with writer's block by making lists and keeping a continuous journal of ideas.
