Describe the [book/series] in 10 words or less for people who are just learning about it.

How did a white kid like me come to live on the Navajo Reservation in the 1960s?

To date, what is your favorite (or most difficult) chapter you have ever written?

The first chapter and you can read it on my website.

Have you ever experienced writer’s block? How did you deal with it?

The best way to deal with writer's block is to think of fifty stories or events you want to write about. Write them down in one sentence and move on to the next one. WHen you have them complied you have the basis to elaborate on each one in detail.

Did you have any say in the cover design?

I took the photograph of Window Rock, Arizona on my book's front cover.

How long did it take you to write this book?

Knowing I had a unique and interesting story I'd been thinking about writing this memoir for thirty plus years. I finally got serious about getting it done in 2018 and it was published in 2025.

Are any of the characters in your book based on people in your real life? If so, can you tell us more about that process and how it influenced your writing?

My book is about my time living on the Navajo Reservation in the late 60's and early 70's.
