What are some books or authors that you would recommend to our readers?

I recommend Retribution by Evan Rhodes. It's a cozy mystery.

Do you identify with your main character or did you create a character that is your opposite?

I definitely identified with the main character, Sydney. She is a loving mother of two. She is also a hard worker in her family business. We have those things in common. I created her younger sister, London, who is my opposite. The dynamic between the two siblings was my greatest challenge in writing the novel.

Would you like readers to have any specific takeaway from your book?

I would like readers to open their hearts to love. Sometimes it does not arrive in a picture perfect gift wrapped box. And making compromises when it comes to love does not equate to settling.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I let my original draft sit for weeks and sometimes months, before I go back to it. Details of the story sometimes come to me over a period of time and I add them in later.

Did you have any say in the cover design?

Yes, I selected the cover art. I love depiction of the young couple in love.

What can we anticipate from you moving forward?

You can anticipate more romance novels. I believe in love and I believe romance should be forever lasting in a relationship.

Did you always want to be an author? If not, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always loved books and going to the library as a child. I always dreamed of being an author but never thought that dream would come true. Not until 2006, when I wrote and published my first book.

How long did it take you to write this book?

It took about one year to write this book. After much contemplation about crafting a story about love the second time around, I started to write the story and I loved every minute of it.

Do you have any personal connection to the story or characters?

For the main character I used my daughter's name, Sydney. She insisted. I also set the story in Indianapolis where I live.
