The Interview - Alicia Pozsony
www.aliciapozsony.comInterviewer: Welcome, Alicia! It's a pleasure to have you with us today. Let's dive right in. Can you tell us a bit about your latest e-book, "6 Ways to Speak Dynamically with clarity and confidence"?
Alicia Pozsony: Thank you! "6 Ways to Speak Dynamically" is all about empowering individuals to enhance their speaking abilities. It provides practical tips and techniques that anyone can use to captivate their audience, whether they're delivering a speech, presenting in a meeting, or simply engaging in everyday conversations. The goal is to help people find their authentic voice and use it confidently and effectively.
Interviewer: That sounds incredibly valuable. What inspired you to write this ebook?
Alicia Pozsony: The inspiration came from my experiences as a coach and motivational speaker. I've seen so many talented individuals struggle with expressing themselves. They have powerful messages, but their fear of public speaking holds them back. I wanted to create a resource that could reach a wider audience and provide the tools and confidence needed to speak dynamically and make an impact.
Interviewer: Speaking of impact, you have an upcoming book titled "Speak Up - 7 Lessons that Let Your Voice Lead." Can you give us a sneak peek into what readers can expect from this book?
Alicia Pozsony: Absolutely! "Speak Up" dives deeper into the journey of finding and amplifying your voice. It covers seven essential lessons that guide readers through the process of becoming influential speakers. Each lesson is packed with real-life examples, exercises, and insights that help readers not only improve their speaking skills but also develop the mindset of a leader. It's about letting your voice lead you to new opportunities and successes.
Interviewer: Both of these books sound like fantastic resources. Can you share a bit about your writing process? How do you go from idea to finished book?
Alicia Pozsony: My writing process is quite structured yet flexible. It starts with brainstorming and outlining the key topics I want to cover. I usually set aside dedicated writing time each day and create a comfortable, distraction-free environment. One interesting anecdote is that I often use voice-to-text software to get my initial thoughts down. Since I'm a speaker at heart, speaking my ideas out loud helps me capture my authentic voice. After that, it's all about refining, editing, and ensuring the content is valuable and engaging for my readers.
Interviewer: That's a unique approach! Do you have any advice for aspiring authors who might be struggling with the writing process?
Alicia Pozsony: Definitely. My biggest piece of advice is to stay authentic and persistent. Writing can be challenging, and it's easy to get discouraged. But remember, your unique perspective is what sets your work apart. Embrace your voice, write consistently, and don't be afraid of revisions. It's all part of the journey. Also, seek feedback from trusted peers or mentors – it can provide new insights and help you improve.
Interviewer: Great advice, Alicia. As a motivational speaker and coach, how do you balance your speaking engagements with your writing?
Alicia Pozsony: It's all about time management and prioritization. I schedule my speaking engagements and coaching sessions around my writing commitments. There are periods where one may take precedence over the other, but I make sure to allocate time for both. Writing and speaking complement each other well – my speaking experiences provide content for my writing, and my writing helps refine my speaking points.
Interviewer: It's impressive how you manage it all. You have previously written "Emotional Strength Explained" and "Funbook for Kids." Could you tell us more about these books?
Alicia Pozsony: Of course! "Emotional Strength Explained" is a workbook designed to help readers find clarity and develop a new way of responding to their emotional lives. It's a resource for anyone looking to enhance their emotional resilience and navigate life's challenges with greater strength and clarity in 30 days with ease. "Funbook for Kids" developed with my daughter, myself and a therapist, is aimed at children aged 4 to 8 and teaches resilience in a fun and engaging way. It can be used by kids alone or with a caregiver, making it a versatile tool for building emotional strength and teaching self-regulation from a young age.
Interviewer: That's wonderful! How can readers find more about your courses and resources?
