Ef Deal
A new voice in the genre of speculative steampunk, Ef Deal’s short fiction has been published in numerous online zines and anthologies as well as in F&SF. Her short story Czesko was given an honorable mention in Gardner Dozois' Year's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy. A freelance editor for over thirty years and a member of SFWA and HWA, she is currently an assistant fiction editor at Abyss&Apex magazine and video editor for Strong Women ~ Strange Worlds. Her current short works can be found in Soul Scream Antholozine, Beach Shorts, Dangerous Waters, and several anthologies from eSpec Books. Her steampunk series from eSpec Books debuts with Esprit de Corpse, featuring the brilliant 19th-century sisters, the Twins of Bellesfées Jacqueline and Angélique. Hard science blends with the paranormal as they challenge the supernatural invasion of France in 1843. When she's not writing, Ef marches old-school alumni drum and bugle corps on soprano bugle; she also composes, arranges, and directs music.
